Chickens are amazing creatures and they are smart enough to find a way to fix their situation when they feel stressed. It’s funny, they are ranked near the bottom of the IQ ladder, but are clearly clever enough to stop laying if they don’t like their coop condition.
While there are lots of reasons they may stop laying eggs, their physical environment can be a common factor and one you should pay attention to.
If their conditions are not up to par, they’ll simply lay elsewhere! Which means you could find yourself on an egg hunt hoping that you find their stash before a predator does.
Keep your chickens coop and nesting boxes clean and tidy and you’ll most likely find that your flock will produce on a regular basis! Assuming, of course, that no other issues are present. Happy chicken tendering!
