What Came First, The Chicken or The Egg?

Chicken or egg came first

I have the answer! Sort of.

You got excited for a second thinking little ol’ Chicken Bawks folk figured it out and were sharing with you first, didn’t you? I promise, if we ever find the definitive answer, you Chicken Bawks family WILL be the first in the know!

Meanwhile, it is an interesting age-old question. I dare say, a debatable question with friends over a nice snack plate. It is easy to go in circles over this subject, I certainly could write for hours going back and forth. For simplicity sake, let’s stay with two basic versions for today.

Science will say, long before we became besties with our backyard flock, two jungle birds that weren’t actually chickens produced an egg. That egg hatched a genetically mutated bird that we now consider a chicken. Egg came first.

Believers in the Christian God as creator will say; God created the heavens, the earth, and everything it. Creation includes our beloved chicken from the very beginning. Chicken came first.

Tenders, I cannot give you the final answer to end one of life’s greatest mysteries. I can only tell you that I enjoy both the chicken, and the egg. And yes, I enjoyed researching this subject, as silly as that may seem to some. Speaking of silly, there are plenty of jokes out there bringing the chicken or egg first question to task. One of my favorites brings the centuries old debate into the new age: Why did the man order a chicken and an egg separately from Amazon? To see which came first.

I suspect it’s a question that will continue to be around for centuries. Just like the chicken! Or is it the egg that’s been around for centuries? Oh man, here I go again…
