Spring is in the air! In springtime, visions of sunshine, bunnies, flowers, and little chicks dance in our heads. For some of us anyway. (It’s me. I’m us!) Every where we look, it’s little balls of fluff and feathers.
I got to wondering if bunnies and chicks can live together harmoniously.
The answer friends, is an exciting yes for many! Our animals have different personalities, just like we do. Ultimately, you will know if you have a successful pairing of personality. It will take some work, however, well thought out planning and diligent maintenance of habitat are the keys for a good run. Here’s a great article that will give you some step by step tips for bunny and chick cohabitation.
A few things to keep in mind are next, but be sure to check out the article for all the vital details.
1)Chicken and rabbits are both social creatures, but it will be necessary to have their living quarters set up in a way that gives each of them alone time when they need it. 2) Introducing them when they are BOTH young is preferable, so that neither is able to assert potentially damaging dominance over the other from youth. 3) Regular, thorough cleaning of their little homes will keep them happy and healthy.
Happy, Sunny, Fluffy Spring friends!
